Why Coaching?

Over 50% of adults in the UK are either actively trying to lose weight, or wishing to do so, at any one time.  Statistics also show that 9 out of 10 people will put some or all of their weight back on within 12 months of starting a diet.

Conventional diets take a ”one size fits all approach”, with the emphasis solely on weight loss.  Such diets often don’t work in the short term as they fail to provide for the conflicts imposed by lifestyles:

  • how realistic is it for a mother to cut out bread from her diet – when she has breakfast toast or sandwiches to make each day for her family?
  • how likely is it that a man will eat a well balanced low fat lunch, when work pressures means he hasn’t eaten for hours and is restricted to the calorie laden processed snacks from the nearby petrol station to satisfy his hunger on his journey home?
